Oilers' Yakupov out 2-4 weeks with ankle sprain

The Edmonton Oilers will be without the services of Nail Yakupov for two-to-four weeks due to an ankle sprain, the club announced.

Yakupov was hurt Wednesday after a linesman took him down accidentally on a faceoff at center ice early in the second period against the Carolina Hurricanes.

It doesn't get much more Oilers than that.

Yakupov - only 22 and in his fourth season - has two goals and 10 assists in 22 games. After a strong October, in which he posted two goals and eight assists in 12 games, November's been a struggle. The Russian has only two assists in 10 games this month and hasn't scored since Oct. 18 - a span of 16 games.

Goal No. 3 will have to wait until December, at the earliest.
