Flyers' Gagner to miss 1 week

Perry Nelson / USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Flyers forward Sam Gagner will miss about one week of action with an upper-body injury, general manager Ron Hextall told Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Gagner was scheduled to be re-evaluated Wednesday after he suffered a cut near his left eye after faceplanting onto the ice Monday against the Carolina Hurricanes. Bob McKenzie of TSN reported the forward spent Monday night in hospital and went through the concussion protocol.

The 26-year-old has five points in 18 games this season.

Colin McDonald, who was recalled from Lehigh Valley of the AHL on Tuesday, will take his spot in the lineup.
