Flames' Hudler won't play Tuesday

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA Today

Calgary Flames forward Jiri Hudler (flu) won't play Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.

Analysis:

Hudler returned to practice Monday after missing Friday's game against Chicago, but didn't take part in normal line rushes, indicating he still hasn't fully recovered from the illness. Head coach Bob Hartley told reporters Tuesday that he wants to give Hudler a few more days to recover from the flu. Although Hudler won't suit up for Tuesday's contest, Hartley's statement indicates the 31-year-old winger should be ready to return to action Friday against the Coyotes. Mason Raymond will continue to skate alongside Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau on Calgary's top line in Hudler's absence.
