The New Jersey Devils' lineup is about to get a big boost.

Patrik Elias, who hasn't played a game this season due to a right knee injury, declared himself ready to play Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Devils head coach John Hynes said there's "a strong chance" Elias will play Wednesday, and that if he doesn't, he'll be in the lineup Friday against the Montreal Canadiens.

Elias, who will turn 40 in April, had 13 goals and 21 assists in 69 games last season.

The winger practiced on a third line with Jacob Josefsen and Stefan Matteau.
