Ribeiro was assessed a 10-minute misconduct penalty for the second straight game Monday against Nashville.

Analysis:

The Predators suffered their third straight shutout loss at the hands of the Rangers, and Ribeiro's emotions got the better of him late in the game. Clearly frustrated by his lack of production and the team's poor play, Ribeiro played 19:42 before exiting the game for verbally abusing the officials, and head coach Peter Laviolette said after the game that Ribeiro's recent antics would be handled "internally." It remains to be seen what sort of punishment, if any, will be levied on Ribeiro by the team. Sitting him might make the Predators' scoring woes even worse, but clearly something needs to be done to snap the team out of its funk. Despite back-to-back game misconducts, Ribeiro is unlikely to be further disciplined by the league.
