Oilers place Schultz on IR with undisclosed injury

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

The Edmonton Oilers have placed defenseman Justin Schultz and forward Rob Klinkhammer on the injured reserve Wednesday.

Schultz left Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings after being hit into the glass by Nick Shore. The team hasn't yet given any information on his condition. The 25-year-old has one assist through nine games this season.

Meanwhile, Klinkhammer was injured after a collision with Ryan Suter in Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Head coach Todd McLellan indicated he is dealing with a lower-body injury.

In corresponding moves, the Oilers called up defenseman Joey LaLeggia and forward Tyler Pitlick from Bakersfield.
