Report: Lightning, Cooper talking extension

The Tampa Bay Lightning have reportedly begun talks with head coach Jon Cooper regarding a contract extension, according to Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times.
Neither Cooper nor general manager Steve Yzerman commented on the situation. Cooper was hired in March 2013 and is currently in the final year of his contract, as is star forward Steven Stamkos.
The 48-year-old Cooper entered this season with a career record of 101-59-20, and fresh off a run to last year's Stanley Cup Final.
