Russell LaBounty / USA TODAY Sports

In their home opener Friday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets' lost both the game and a top-nine forward for the foreseeable future.

Alexander Wennberg suffered a concussion as a result of a collision with sturdy New York Rangers winger Chris Kreider, Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said postgame.

There's no timetable for his return.

Wennberg scored four goals and added 16 assists in 68 games last season.
