Kings' Jordan Weal expected to make NHL debut Friday vs. Coyotes

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Weal is expected to make his NHL debut Friday against the Arizona Coyotes, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports.

Analysis:

It appears as though head coach Darryl Sutter will slot Weal into the Kings' lineup in an attempt to shake things up after Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Sharks. Weal is only 5-foot-10, but has a ton of offensive talent. The 23-year-old tallied 69 points (20 goals, 49 assists) in 73 games with AHL Manchester last season. He's unlikely to carry that type of production into the NHL, but could still be a difference maker for the Kings on offense.
