It isn't a huge shock that Byron was snatched off waivers, as the 26-year-old forward has plenty of NHL experience. He tallied 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 57 games with the Flames last season, and will fill the roster spot left vacant by the recently suspended Zack Kassian in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Maple Leafs.
