Analysis:

Talbot was already announced as the expected starting netminder for the Oilers this season, so it's not a big surprise that he'll receive the nod Opening Night. While he should receive the lion's share of starts in net for Edmonton this season, but it's unlikely he'll be able to replicated his results from a season ago considering the Oilers allowed the most goals per game last season. Some of that can be attributed to the poor play of the team's netminders, but it's also likely also a reflection of the team as a whole.
