Grimaldi was expected to take a great leap forward this season, but an ankle injury sustained during the preseason could be a setback in his development. The 22-year-old played in seven NHL games last season, scoring his first career goal, but was a strong contributor in the AHL, scoring 14 goals and adding 28 assists in 64 games.
