Penguins' Dupuis to miss 4-5 weeks with lower-body injury

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis will be out four-to-five weeks with a lower-body injury.

The ailment is unrelated to the blood clot that limited him to 16 games last season.

On Monday, Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford ruled Dupuis out of Thursday's season opener against the Dallas Stars, and head coach Mike Johnston seemed cautiously optimistic.

"I don't think it was anything major but with all these things, you're very cautious at the beginning of the year just with anything happening," Johnston said Monday. "I expect over the next few days, we'll know a little bit more. He may even be back tomorrow.”

Dupuis, who has played nine seasons for the Penguins, has 405 points in 853 career games.
