Pulkkinen has made the Red Wings roster to start the season, the team's official site reports.

Analysis:

Pulkkinen spent a lot of time in Detroit last season, notching eight points in 31 games. He also dominated in Grand Rapids' playoff run in the AHL, which has led to a roster spot for the Finnish winger. The Red Wings are hoping he can convert the huge numbers he put up in the AHL to the NHL like teammates Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar have, but it may take a little more experience in the big leagues before that happens.
