Orlov survived final training-camp cuts and is expected to play on the third defensive pairing to start the season, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Orlov said he is still working his way back after missing last season due to implications from a wrist injury sustained in 2014. Head coach Barry Trotz, suggesting Orlov is "still catching up in his game", is expected to begin the season with Orlov on the third pairing with Nate Schmidt. Given his lack of offensive opportunity, fantasy owners should wait and see how Orlov progresses in the first few weeks. If the injury has not damaged Orlov's booming point shot, he could work his way into some power-play time with Mike Green having departed for Detroit.
