Devils' Tootoo fined for trip on Predators' Jones

The NHL Department of Player Safety slapped New Jersey Devils forward Jordin Tootoo with a $2,217.74 fine for his dangerous trip on Nashville Predators defenseman Seth Jones.

The incident took place at the 7:55 mark of the third period of Tuesday's game at Newark's Prudential Center. Tootoo was assessed a minor penalty for tripping on the play.

The fine is the maximum allowable under the CBA.
