Coyotes release Patrick Dwyer from professional tryout

The Arizona Coyotes released forward Patrick Dwyer from his professional tryout, the team announced Sunday.

Dwyer was invited to try out at camp after spending seven seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. The 32-year-old recorded five goals and 12 points in 71 games last season.

The team also announced that 2014 first-round pick Brendan Perlini has been assigned to the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League.
