Stars' Niemi expected to make 2nd straight start after opening night shutout

Antti Niemi's 37-save shutout against the Pittsburgh Penguins in his Dallas Stars debut didn't go unnoticed.

The 32-year-old is expected to again man the crease on Saturday night when the Stars take on the Colorado Avalanche, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.

Niemi blanked a potent Penguins offense on Thursday while also chipping in on the offensive end, tallying two assists of his own.

The veteran netminder signed a three-year contract with the Stars in the offseason.
