Jonathan Huberdeau: Signs Two-Year Deal with Panthers
Huberdeau signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Panthers on Thursday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Analysis:
It took until the eve of training camp to get it done, but the Panthers have finally locked Huberdeau back in for the next two seasons after he submitted a bounce-back 2014-15 campaign, during which he tallied a career-high 15 goals and 39 assists. Huberdeau's bridge deal will pay him $2.5 million this season and $4 million in 2016-17. The former Calder Trophy winner is slated to skate on a top line that includes young upstart center Aleksander Barkov and NHL luminary Jaromir Jagr, which could lead to another step forward offensively in his fourth season with the Panthers.
