Red Wings' Cleary assigned to AHL

The Detroit Red Wings have assigned forward Dan Cleary to their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
General manager Ken Holland said Thursday he isn't sure whether Cleary will report, according to MLive's Ansar Khan.
After being placed on waivers Wednesday, Cleary cleared waivers Thursday.
The 36-year-old forward collected two points in 17 games last season, his 10th with the Red Wings.
