Charles LeClaire / USA Today

The Los Angeles Kings have officially signed defenseman Christian Ehrhoff to a one-year contract.

The deal, worth $1.5 million, was first reported back on Aug. 23.

Ehrhoff joins the Kings as a free agent after spending 2014-15 as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 33-year-old was limited to 49 games due to a concussion, recording three goals and 14 assists for the Eastern Conference club.

In 741 career games, Ehrhoff has posted 72 goals and 255 assists, and he'll be tasked with providing a veteran, puck-moving presence to a Kings blue line looking to guide the team back to the playoffs.

Ehrhoff will wear No. 44.
