Buffalo Sabres forward Jack Eichel is one expensive commodity.

The 2015 second overall pick agreed to an exclusive, multi-year, autograph agreement with Leaf Trading Cards Tuesday.

In a release by Leaf Trading Cards, CEO Brian Gray states:

This is easily the most lucrative autograph trading deal for any rookie in the history of the sport. He joins the ranks of Lebron James, Cam Newton, and Kris Bryant as the largest rookie autograph deals in their respective sport. We think Jack is the kind of special athlete that deserves to join this elite club.

The news comes at an interesting time as Eichel is finishing up at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase - an event put on to allow rival company Upper Deck to snap pictures and video of the NHL's top rookies for trading cards and memorabilia.

Upper Deck is the NHL's licensed manufacturer and since Leaf is not, that means all Leaf cards must be stripped of all league marks, including team logos.
