The Toronto Maple Leafs are destined for a painful 2015-16 season, but that doesn't mean they can't ice a team to be proud of.

The Maple Leafs are in the midst of a rebuild, but head coach Mike Babcock is hoping his team will be one that future players will idolize and want to play for.

"There's a whole ton of guys who play hockey in Ontario, maybe one day they'd like to play for the Leafs," Babcock told reporters. "It's important for us to have a product on the ice that attracts players."

Following his hiring by the club, Babcock expressed his goal to re-establish the Maple Leafs as Canada's team so creating a desirable team looks to be the first step towards that.
