Buffalo Sabres fans got a glimpse of Jack Eichel in the team's colors at June's NHL Entry Draft, but they got a more complete preview Thursday.

The second overall pick donned full Sabres gear for the first time to announce an endorsement deal with Bauer Hockey.

Eichel wore No. 41 in development camp, so this is also the first time he has worn No. 15 for Buffalo. The highly touted prospect had the photo taken in Toronto last week.

"It was pretty weird," he told Keith McShea of the Buffalo News.

"We were up in Toronto for a little photo shoot with the new line of equipment. It was a long day but a great experience, shooting footage for commercials and ads, getting to use new equipment, getting to wear the Sabres jersey."

Eichel is working out in his home state of Massachusetts before his whirlwind NHL schedule ramps up.

"It'll be a few more weeks training at home and trying to get better, then obviously back to Buffalo. We have a rookie showcase in Toronto, then rookie camp, and before you know it training camp. I'm just excited for it. I'm looking forward to getting back to Buffalo."

For Eichel and Sabres fans alike, the 2015-16 season can't come soon enough.
