It's all about perspective in Buffalo.

Speaking at a Business First panel Thursday, Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula stated his belief that his club's past two seasons - when they finished 30th overall - can't be considered failures.

Quite the opposite, in fact.

To be sure, the poor results allowed the team to draft the likes of Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, while general manager Tim Murray has put in yeoman's work in regards to building a more competitive roster.

Still, the Sabres advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals in back-to-back seasons within the past decade, meaning the bar will need to be raised more than a little bit in regards to what constitutes a successful season.
