That's the sense surrounding contract negotiations involving Erik Haula and the Minnesota Wild. With an arbitration hearing scheduled for July 31, the two sides sit only $425,000 apart.

Haula, 24, is coming off a two-year deal that carried a cap hit of $900,000. He appeared in 72 games for the Wild this past season, recording seven goals and seven assists.
