The Boston Bruins have signed forward Jimmy Hayes to a three-year contract with an annual cap hit of $2.3 million.

General Fanager has a year-by-year breakdown of the contract.

Hayes, 25, came to the Bruins on July 1 from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Reilly Smith and the contract of Marc Savard.

The former second-round pick had a breakout season last year, setting career highs for games played (72), goals (19), assists (16), and points (35).

He's the older brother of Kevin Hayes, who also had a standout season last year with the New York Rangers.

Boston also announced the signings of Brett Connolly and Brandon DeFazio.
