Swede Dansk moves: Blue Jackets prospect will play overseas next season

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltending prospect Oscar Dansk will be loaned to a Swedish league team next season in an attempt to rediscover his game.

The Stockholm native will play the 2015-16 season with Rogle BK in Sweden's first division.

"(I want to) grow into myself again, bounce back and build some confidence into my game," Dansk said at Blue Jackets development camp earlier this week, according to Justin Meyer of the Columbus Dispatch.

The move was first reported by Aaron Portzline of the Dispatch in May.

Dansk struggled in his first pro season in North America, going 7-7-5 with a 3.57 GAA and a .880 save percentage in 21 games for the AHL's Springfield Falcons and going 1-8-0 with a 3.73 GAA and a .889 save percentage in 11 contests with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings.

"I got away from my game a little bit because I felt like I wasn’t playing really well, so (I) tried to find a solution," Dansk said.

"I maybe should have just built on my game and made it stronger. I got away from my game, which probably hurt me in the long run."

The 21-year-old was a second-round pick of the Blue Jackets in 2012.

"I want to perform. I am the kind of guy that always wants to find solutions to things. I hope to come back here as a better goaltender and improved with more experience. I want to fight for a spot in the NHL. That’s my mindset, and that’s the way it's going to be."
