Antti Niemi's days in San Jose may be numbered, as the unrestricted free agent hits the open market.

That may have been re-affirmed by the San Jose Sharks on Friday. Troy Grosenick's agent says they've signed the goaltender to a two-year contract extension, reports Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area.

From Kurz:

The deal is worth $1.2 million at the NHL level. It's a two-way deal in the first year, and a one-way deal in 2016-17. Grosenick, who turns 26 in August, was a pending restricted free agent.

Grosenick appeared in two games with the big club last season, going 1-1 with a goals-against average of 1.53 and a save percentage of .948.

He also played in 36 games for the AHL Worcester Sharks, posting a 20-13-3 record with a GAA of 2.63 and save percentage of .906.

San Jose has Alex Stalock inked for next season as well, but is reportedly interested in acquiring a starting netminder.
