Ray Shero: Coaching hires around NHL 'really hasn't affected' Devils' search

As coaching vacancies are filled around the NHL, New Jersey Devils general manager Ray Shero is content to stick to his plan, whatever that may be.

The latest hiring announcements came Thursday, as Dan Bylsma - Shero's former bench boss in Pittsburgh - was reeled in by the Buffalo Sabres, and former Devils coach Pete DeBoer found a new home in San Jose.

Now, the Devils remain one of two clubs without a head coach, but Shero doesn't appear to be moved by what's been going on around him.

"What's transpired around the league really hasn't affected me," Shero told Tom Gulitti of Fire and Ice.

Shero is believed to be quite high on John Hynes, the head coach of the Penguins' AHL club in Scranton, as well as Washington assistant Todd Reirden, who is also reportedly in consideration for the gig in New Jersey.
