Report: Sabres GM willing to trade 21st pick in the draft

Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray is not going to let losing the Mike Babcock sweepstakes prevent him from making his team better.

After missing out on hiring the head coach, Murray is looking to improve in others ways, and he's willing to part with Buffalo's second first-round draft pick, according to Sportsnet's Damien Cox.

On top of having the second-overall pick, the team holds the 21st pick, which could be particularly valuable in a deep draft class.

Murray is reportedly looking to trade the pick in hopes of either moving up the draft board or attaining a young prospect.

The Sabres finished with the worst record in the NHL this season and are in the midst of a rebuild.
