It looks as though the Columbus Blue Jackets are serious about bolstering their blue line.

The club is looking to acquire some help on defense and could be shopping 2013 first-round pick Kerby Rychel to do so, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The Blue Jackets had the sixth worst goals against this season so defense is a priority for the club. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets have young talent to spare.

Rychel had three assists in five games with the Blue Jackets during the regular season and had 12 goals and 31 points in 51 games in his first season with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
