Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin said re-signing Petry will be an offseason priority, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

Analysis:

Bergevin has been pretty open about the team's plans, as he also said the Habs won't re-sign Sergei Gonchar, Mike Weaver and Manny Malhotra. Petry joined the team in a late-season trade with the Oilers, notching seven points (three goals) over 19 regular-season games in a Canadiens uniform. He then had three points in 12 playoff appearances, averaging 22:17 of ice time per contest.
