Zucker revealed during Monday's season-ending media availability that he played through a broken thumb during the Wild's final eight postseason games, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis:

After missing two months while recovering from a broken clavicle, Zucker return in early April gave the Wild an immediate boost, as he supplied four goals in his first four games back, including a score in Game 1 of the first-round series with St. Louis. However, after fracturing his thumb when he blocked a shot by the Blues' Alex Pietrangelo in Game 2, Zucker was never the same, providing just one goal and one assist for the Wild the rest of the way. He's likely still experiencing some numbness with the thumb that may continue to dog him during the summer, but Zucker should be back to full strength by training camp. Despite his bad luck on the injury front, the 23-year-old was often the Wild's top sniper when healthy, and could be poised for a breakout 2015-16 campaign.
