- WASHINGTON - Even without injured guard John Wall, the Wizards take a 2-1 series lead over the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks into Game 4 of their conference semifinal. Game starts 7 p.m.
- MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Grizzlies go for a third straight victory against Golden State, leading 2-1 in this conference semifinal. The Warriors haven't lost three in a row all season. Game starts 9:30 p.m.
- INDEPENDENCE, Ohio - David Blatt, a rookie NBA coach with strong international credentials, is feeling the heat for two puzzling decisions in the Cavaliers' victory over Chicago in Game 4.
- TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Bay's NHL playoff lead over Montreal is slipping. But the Lightning, leading 3-2, remain confident they can finish the job against the Canadiens in Game 6 on Tuesday night.
- ARLINGTON, Va. - Alex Ovechkin guarantees a Game 7 victory against the Rangers on Wednesday night. Washington coach Barry Trotz has no problem with his captain's assertion.
- PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Four recent tournaments have produced a lineup of winners that speaks to the state of golf - Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler.
- GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida introduces basketball coach Mike White, an under-the-radar hire from Louisiana Tech who has the tough task of following Billy Donovan.
- SAN DIEGO - The Chargers were paid nearly $3.3 million by the city to play at Qualcomm Stadium from 2006 to 2013. They would have owed San Diego nearly $23 million without an array of generous benefits.
- PARIS - Rafael Nadal is out of the top five in the rankings for the first time in 10 years. He is now No. 7, meaning he could face stronger opponents as early as the quarterfinals at the French Open.
- Ethiopian running great Haile Gebrselassie is retiring at 42. Perhaps the most versatile runner in track history, Gebrselassie won two Olympic gold medals and four world titles.
- FRANKFURT, Germany - Bayern Munich must score and contain a lethal attack led by Lionel Messi when it plays Barcelona in Tuesday's semifinal return leg in the Champions League.
