Taylor Hall nets hat trick, Canada wallops Germany at World Championship

Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall scored a hat trick as Canada cruised to a 10-0 victory over Germany at the World Hockey Championship in Prague on Sunday.

Hall capped off the feat by converting a terrific pass by Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene in the third period.

Duchene scored on a penalty shot and finished with three points in the rout.

Dallas Stars center Cody Eakin registered a pair of goals and Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux tallied a goal and two assists.

Sidney Crosby opened the scoring midway through the first period, going top shelf just as a Canadian penalty expired.

Canada remained undefeated after beating Latvia 6-1 in the tournament opener Friday. Team Canada will face the hosts, the Czech Republic, on Monday.

Germany plays Switzerland on Tuesday.
