Sharks' Hertl named to Czech Republic team for World Championship

San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl will get to wear his country's colors. 

The Czech Republic announced Thursday that Hertl will suit up for the team at the World Championship. 

The 21-year-old has played in the last two tournaments and had three goals and six points in nine games in last year's edition. 

Hertl had 13 goals and 31 points in 82 games for the Sharks. 

The Czech Republic opens the tournament Friday against Sweden.
