Blackhawks advance to 2nd round with comeback win over Predators

Dennis Wierzbicki / USA TODAY Sports

After going down 3-1 in the first period, the Chicago Blackhawks rallied to a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 to advance to the second round of the postseason.

Defenseman Duncan Keith sunk the Predators after scoring the fourth and deciding goal on a blast from the point with 3:48 remaining in the game beating a screened Pekka Rinne.

Star performer: Keith had the deciding goal to go along with two assists while leading all players in ice-time with 28 minutes.

Turning point: Though it seemed like the game was getting away from them, after the Blackhawks made the goalie change, taking out Scott Darling in favor of Corey Crawford, the team came alive.

Goalie comparison: After a wild first period that saw six goals scored between the two teams, the goalies settled down with Corey Crawford going perfect in relief.

Goalie Shots GA Saves SV%
Darling 12 3 9 .750
Crawford 11 0 11 1.00
Rinne 32 4 28 .875

Top highlight: Keith showed such poise and patience on the winning goal. Riding the line, faking out the Predators forwards until he finally found a lane where he could blast a shot through a maze of players.

Stat of the night: With the Predators' Game 6 loss, the team now improves to 0-5 in Game 6 elimination games. Meanwhile head coach Peter Laviolette improves to 0-6 at the United Center in the playoffs.
