The Dallas Stars have signed center Mattias Janmark to a two-year, entry-level contract, general manager Jim Nill announced Friday.

"Mattias has done a tremendous job of excelling in the Swedish Hockey League at a young age," Nill said. "He will spend the playoffs with Texas (of the AHL) and we're excited to watch how he contributes to that team and develops as a player."

Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round (79th overall) in 2013, Janmark, 22, ranked 17th in Swedish Hockey League scoring with Frolunda, recording 13 goals and 23 assists in 55 games, and was the youngest player to make it into the top 20.

Janmark's rights were acquired in a deal that sent Erik Cole to Detroit.
