Zdeno Chara: Out Four Weeks with Fractured Fibula

Chara was diagnosed Tuesday with a non-displaced fracture of his left fibula.

Analysis:

Fortunately for Chara, the injury won't require surgery and needs about four weeks of recovery time, which should put him well on track for the start of training camp. Chara contributed a disappointing eight goals and 20 points across 63 games this season, and though he'll seemingly enter the 2015-16 campaign at full health, the 38-year-old clearly appears to be on the decline. While some uptick in his production might seem reasonable if he's able to avoid any lengthy absences, Chara is no better than the third-best fantasy option on the Bruins' blue line, behind the likes of Torey Krug and Dougie Hamilton.
