The Toronto Maple Leafs are searching for a new head coach and general manager as they attempt to restructure the organization after an April purge.

Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan has been granted permission to speak with Arizona Coyotes assistant GM and goaltending coach Sean Burke, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

The executive is an intriguing choice for Toronto, as he has both coaching and front-office experience, as well as the ability to revive the careers of goalies.

Burke, who played with Shanahan with the New Jersey Devils, was successful in helping change the games of goalies Mike Smith and Devan Dubnyk.

The Maple Leafs finished the 2014-15 season with the fourth-worst record in the league (30-44-8).
