Anders Lindback on future with Sabres: 'I really, really like it here'

Buffalo: the land of opportunity.

Anders Lindback sees the Buffalo Sabres differently than most.

Dumped by the Dallas Stars at the trade deadline, Lindback was presented with potentially one final opportunity to revive a fading career. But it came under the worst of circumstances.

Fast-forward 14 starts, and Lindback stopped pucks for the worst team in the NHL at a 92.4 percent clip.

Now he wants to let the good times roll.

"I really, really like it here," Lindback, an unrestricted free agent this summer, said Sunday. "I like the people, everything about it. It's just the part of winning. I think that's going to come."

He told reporters that starting with regularity did wonders for his game.

"I think that’s what’s been missing for me – playing, getting into a rhythm. It was a long time ago I got to play this much. I've just been feeling more comfortable for every game that’s passed."

Despite his best efforts, the crease won't necessarily be Lindback's next year. Chad Johnson, who also came over at the deadline, is the only NHL-ready goaltender under contract for next season.
