Corey Perry's 4-point night helps Ducks complete 3rd-period comeback over Jets

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

Corey Perry amassed four points and had a history-making helper as the Anaheim Ducks stormed back with three goals in the third to earn a Game 1 win, 4-2 over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.

Perry eclipsed Teemu Selanne with the legend in the building, moving into second-place on the franchise's all-time list with his 35th Stanley Cup playoff assist on Sami Vatanen's goal.

Star Performer: Perry had that postseason twinkle in his eye. His first goal came on a scramble in front before he forced himself through the crease on a net-front drive short-handed, and was the only one in the building who knew he had his second of the night.

Turning Point: Ryan Kesler doing Ryan Kesler things. He turned the tide late in the second period when he goaded Mark Scheifele into a roughing minor. Perry's first, which tied the game early in the third, came on the ensuing man advantage.

Goalie Comparison: Even when scored on, Ondrej Pavelec was making saves, but Frederik Andersen answered the bell for the Ducks and stood tall late.

Goalie Shots GA Saves SV%
Pavelec 33 4 29 0.879
Andersen 27 2 25 0.926

Top Highlight: Here is Perry's short-handed tally, which needed review after play continued for several moments.

Stat of the Night: They made it an even 50. Comeback wins, that is, over the last two seasons.
