Nugent-Hopkins was forced to sit out the Oilers' final six games of the season with the injury, finishing out the campaign with 24 goals and 56 points over 76 contests. The 22-year-old is hopeful he'll be fully recovered from the injury in time to suit up for Canada in the 2015 World Ice Hockey Championships in May, and expects to receive a verdict from doctors on that front by the end of thew week. If Nugent-Hopkins is cleared to play, he would likely need to wear protection on his skate to prevent the fracture from worsening.
