Columbus Blue Jackets (41-35-5) at New York Islanders (47-28-6), 7 p.m. (ET)

(SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Islanders will host their final regular- season game at Nassau Coliseum on Saturday night when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Islanders will move to Brooklyn next season after having called the Coliseum home since 1972. However, New York assured there will be playoff hockey in the aging venue and still have a shot at securing home ice in the first round of the playoffs.

The Isles are locked into a first-round matchup with the Washington Capitals, who lead New York by a point for second place in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams have 40 non-shootout wins and the Caps wrap their regular season on Saturday afternoon against the New York Rangers.

Coming in having lost five of their previous seven games, the Islanders built some momentum last night with a big 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jaroslav Halak made 37 saves, while John Tavares, Casey Cizikas and Michael Grabner all had goals.

"Jaro came up big for us, especially in the first (period)," said New York head coach Jack Capuano. "He made three or four tremendous saves to keep the score what it was."

Tavares has three goals and 10 points over a five-game point streak. He is tied with the Penguins' Sidney Crosby for the NHL lead with 84 points.

New York did play most of last night's game without defenseman Travis Hamonic, who exited in the first period with an undisclosed injury after taking a hit.

The Islanders are 2-0-1 versus the Blue Jackets this season and 5-0-2 in the previous seven meetings at home.

The Blue Jackets won't be going to the playoffs, but they can close the season having posted the longest point streak in team history. Their current 11-0-1 run matches the franchise-best 8-0-4 streak from Feb. 26-March 22, 2013.

Cam Atkinson had the winning goal in last night's 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres, while Nick Foligno, Matt Calvert and Boone Jenner also scored. Jack Johnson and David Savard added two assists each to support Sergei Bobrovsky's 23 saves.

"The fans were buzzing, we owe all our success to them," Atkinson said.

Columbus wrapped its home schedule with a club record-tying sixth straight win as the host and head coach Todd Richards notched his 126th win to pass Ken Hitchcock for the most in team history.

Brandon Dubinsky extended his point streak to seven straight games, totaling three goals and seven assists over that run, while Foligno has five goals and three helpers over a six-game point streak.
