VIDEO: Canucks' Burrows burns Predators on shorthanded breakaway

James Guillory / USA Today

Alex Burrows pounced on a shorthanded opportunity in the third period of Tuesday's game to pull the Vancouver Canucks even with the Nashville Predators.

Ronalds Kenins was serving a roughing penalty when Burrows knocked the puck into the neutral zone and had a clear path to Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne. Burrows slid a forehand deke underneath Rinne's outstretched pad for his second goal in as many games.

Chris Higgins put the Canucks on top with a power play goal at 5:48 of the third period but Mike Fisher scored to send the game to overtime. Vancouver prevailed in a shootout.
