Brian Elliott was no match for Shawn Matthias in the second period of Monday's game between the Vancouver Canucks and the St. Louis Blues.
A stretch pass from Chris Tanev sprung Matthias on a breakaway and the Canucks forward fooled Elliott with a hesitation forehand deke to open the scoring 24 minutes into the contest.
Vancouver defeated St. Louis 4-1 to deny the Blues an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot.
