Bruins to sell postseason tickets whether they're playoff-bound or not

The Boston Bruins are going to sell playoff tickets later this week, despite the fact they could be on the outside looking in by the time the seats go on sale.

Individual tickets and single game suite rentals for hypothetical first-round playoff games will go on sale Friday morning.

The Bruins currently occupy the second wild card spot with a three-point lead on the Ottawa Senators

If Ottawa wins on Tuesday and Thursday and Boston loses their games on those same nights, the Senators will leapfrog the Bruins. Boston will then have four games remaining, while Ottawa will have five.

The Bruins will offer full refunds if they fail to qualify, but it's still a presumptive move considering the uncertainty in the wild card race. The Florida Panthers trail the Bruins by four points, a single point behind the Senators.

Boston is in a playoff position now, but they aren't exactly a lock to clinch. Maybe they're hoping this move will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
