Lightning summon pair with injuries to Garrison, Paquette

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Lightning are expected to be short of full strength - thanks in part to Justin Abdelkader - for Monday's key Atlantic Division matchup with the Montreal Canadiens.

Injuries to Jason Garrison and Cedric Paquette have forced the Lightning into recalling forward Jonathan Marchessault and defenseman Luke Witkowski, who could both feature in the game that will go a long way in determining postseason seeding.

Garrison was driven hard into the end boards face first on a nasty check from Abdelkader, while Paquette twisted his leg while crashing into his own goal chasing down the aforementioned Detroit Red Wings forward.

Paquette was on the ice for the morning skate, though, indicating that Marchessault's summoning could come without him participating in his second career NHL game.
