The Panthers are interested in re-signing Jagr, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, according to a report on NHL.com that cited the Miami Herald.

Analysis:

Kitties' general manager Dale Tallon confirmed he met with Jagr's agent in Montreal before his team took on the Habs; both parties agreed to wait until the offseason to continue discussions. Jagr said as recently as Friday that he was excited by the team's young talent and predicted they would be contending for a Cup within two years. Moreover, he seems to be starting to hit his stride as a supporting-cast player. He would collect an assist in his third straight game Saturday and put four shots on goal in the contest.
